Virgin Atlantic and British Airways reported that the wing tip of a Virgin Atlantic aircraft, which was not carrying passengers, collided with a stationary British Airways plane while being towed on the ground at Heathrow Airport in London on Saturday. Heathrow Airport, the busiest airport in the UK for passenger traffic, indicated that no injuries among passengers were reported and that the incident is not expected to impact any of its operations. British Airways stated, "Our engineering teams are assessing our aircraft, and we have provided a replacement aircraft to minimize the impact of the incident on our customers." Virgin Atlantic clarified that "its Boeing 787-9 had just completed a flight," noting that the collision occurred at Terminal 3 while the aircraft was being towed to another area.
