After departing from Dubai earlier today, Sunday, Yasmina Zaitoun, Miss Asia and Oceania, first runner-up in Miss World, and Miss Lebanon, arrived at Rafik Hariri International Airport accompanied by her parents. She was welcomed at the airport’s VIP lounge by Minister of Tourism Walid Nassar and Chairman of the LBCI Beir Daher.
After her mother expressed immense pride in her daughter, Yasmina remarked upon her arrival, "I am proud and happy to return with this title, and Lebanon deserves all beautiful things; this is just the beginning."
It is noteworthy that Yasmina achieved the highest title Lebanon has ever reached in the Miss World competition. Tears of joy were evident on the queen's face, as a large number of journalists, relatives, and friends awaited her inside the VIP lounge.
Tourism Minister Walid Nassar, in his speech, stated: "We welcome Yasmina Zaitoun, Miss Asia and Oceania, and first runner-up in Miss World. Through you, joy has returned to the Lebanese people with your resilience and belief in what you are doing. You have set new standards in this global competition, showing that a woman is not only beautiful in appearance but also intelligent, cultured, and strong-willed."
Nassar added, "I promise the Lebanese people, God willing, and this is the hope of every Lebanese, that we will celebrate again in your southern hometown of Kfarchouba, hoping to celebrate the liberation of Lebanon with you."
In turn, Yasmina Zaitoun thanked everyone for sharing in her joy and said, "I tried my best to raise my voice as a Lebanese because Lebanon deserves all beautiful things. I don’t want to be too emotional, as I see faces that mean a lot to me, but I will say this is the Lebanon we want, one that does not surrender and is strong."
