Local officials reported that Russian shelling resulted in the deaths of three women in the city of Kherson in southern Ukraine and two individuals in the Donetsk region in the east. Prosecutors stated that the three women were killed on a street in Kherson, a town abandoned by Russian forces late last year, along with other residential areas on the western bank of the Dnipro River. Russian forces regularly shell Kherson city and surrounding areas from their positions on the eastern bank of the river. Prosecutors in the Donetsk region indicated that two people died when Russian forces shelled Krasnohorivka, west of the Russian-controlled city of Donetsk and near the long-contested town of Mariinka. They noted that three people were injured in Kostiantynivka, west of the town of Bakhmut, which has been under Russian control since May, during two airstrikes carried out by Russian forces within an hour. In contrast, the Russian Defense Ministry, as reported by the TASS news agency, stated on Friday that Russian air defenses shot down ten Ukrainian drones over the Kursk region and one over the Kaluga region during the night.
