The foreign ministers of Jordan, Egypt, and Iraq agreed on the importance of finalizing the proposed projects among them and initiating new ideas and projects in areas such as electric connectivity, renewable energy, telecommunications, trade, industry, transportation, health, pharmaceutical industries, housing, and reconstruction. They also discussed cultural, tourism, youth, sports, as well as security and defense cooperation. This statement was made during a meeting held by Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, along with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, as part of the trilateral cooperation mechanism among Jordan, Iraq, and Egypt. The meeting took place yesterday on the sidelines of the high-level week for the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The ministers also addressed the regional situation, emphasizing the importance of achieving security and stability in the region. They discussed several issues, with the Palestinian issue being central, stressing the importance of restoring the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people. Additionally, they talked about efforts to find a solution to the Syrian crisis, particularly through the efforts of the Arab contact group, aiming to serve the interests of the Syrian people and alleviate their suffering.
The foreign ministers agreed to continue their coordination in preparation for the upcoming trilateral summit scheduled to be held in Cairo.
