The Army Command — Directorate of Guidance issued the following statement today: "As a result of the security measures taken by Army units across various regions of Lebanon during March 2024, 385 individuals of different nationalities were arrested for their involvement in various crimes and offenses, including drug trafficking, theft, smuggling, possession of weapons and prohibited items, roaming within Lebanese territory without legal residency, and driving vehicles and motorcycles without legal documents. The confiscated items included 42 military weapons of different types, 9 hand grenades, quantities of light and medium ammunition, several vehicles and motorcycles, as well as a quantity of drugs and various communication devices and surveillance cameras. Additionally, attempts to smuggle approximately 400 Syrians across the land borders illegally were thwarted. The detainees, along with the confiscated items, were handed over to the relevant authorities for further action."
