Marches in Ramallah Commemorate Palestinian Prisoners' Day (Video)

Activities for Palestinian Prisoners' Day, observed on April 17 each year, kicked off in various West Bank governorates. A large march traversed the streets of Ramallah, with participants chanting calls to "stop the aggression of the occupation on Gaza and the West Bank, and hold the occupation accountable for its crimes against the Palestinian people." The participants urged the international community and human rights organizations to "stand by the detainees and their families, and defend the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to their land." It is noteworthy that the number of prisoners in Israeli jails exceeds 9,500, including about 80 female prisoners, over 200 children, 3,660 administrative detainees, and 56 journalists.
