Mikati: Those Who Criticize the Government Should Fulfill Their Duties in Electing a President

Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati affirmed that "the campaigns and positions against the government, despite the difficult circumstances and the critical situation, will not drive us to despair or frustration, nor will they lead us to accept anything that could harm our country, threaten our unity, or disrupt the role of our institutions, particularly the national and constitutional role of the government."

In a speech delivered at an Iftar event for social welfare institutions in Lebanon - the Islamic Orphanage, Mikati added, "We will not waste any more time; we will continue to assert in practice that we are committed to fulfilling our responsibilities fully for the good of Lebanon and all its people, away from the factional considerations that some use to achieve goals that will never resemble our collective national behavior that embraces all citizens."

He stated, "Our current priority is to work on finding acceptable solutions to the social issues raised and the people's concerns, taking into account the preservation of a minimum balance in the state's revenues and expenditures."

Mikati emphasized that "the election of a president is the primary task of the honorable deputies, not unjustified criticism of a government that everyone knows is facing challenges one after the other with a sense of responsibility."

This was part of Prime Minister Najib Mikati's speech at the Iftar event for social welfare institutions in Lebanon - the Islamic Orphanage.
