The UAE Basketball Federation, in coordination with the Dubai Sports Council, hosted the first meeting of the Executive Office of the Asian Basketball Confederation for the 2023-2027 session at the council's headquarters. The meeting was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Saud bin Ali Al Thani, President of the International Basketball Federation, and Mr. Andreas Zagklis, Secretary-General of the International Federation. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Joe Vindraj Kambardi, President of the Asian Federation, and Mr. Haigob, Secretary-General of the Asian Federation, along with His Excellency Lieutenant General Ismail Al Qirqawi, President of the UAE and Arab Federations, and His Excellency Abdul Latif Al Fardan, Vice President of the UAE Federation, member of the Executive Office of the Asian Federation, and head of the finance committee, as well as other Executive Office members of the Asian Federation.
He welcomed the guests and wished them success in achieving their significant goals, expressing hope that this first meeting in Dubai marks the beginning of a new and successful phase in their important work. His Excellency Lieutenant General Ismail Al Qirqawi attended part of the meeting, welcoming the guests to the UAE and congratulating the new President of the International Federation and its Board of Directors, wishing them success. The UAE Federation Board expressed its commitment to providing everything necessary to ensure the success of the meetings. During the meeting, Saudi Arabia's selection to host the 2025 Asia Cup was unanimously approved, and the formation of committees was ratified.
