Ukrainian Army: Situation Stabilized at Avdiivka Front

Ukrainian Army spokesperson Dmytro Lechovy stated today, Sunday, that the situation has stabilized somewhat at the Avdiivka front in eastern Ukraine following the withdrawal of Kyiv's forces yesterday, Saturday. He mentioned in televised remarks, "I can say... that on the day after leaving Avdiivka, we see that the situation has stabilized to some extent." He added that Ukrainian forces suffered losses during the withdrawal, but they were minimal considering the circumstances. Russian news agencies reported today, citing the Ministry of Defense, that Russian forces have gained full control over the Ukrainian town of Avdiivka and advanced by 8.6 kilometers in this part of the frontline. Russia announced the capture of Avdiivka after Ukraine's withdrawal but noted that some Ukrainian soldiers are still holed up in a Soviet-era coal processing complex following one of the fiercest battles of the war.
