The "Tajaddod" bloc clarified regarding what some media outlets published, explaining the comments of one of its deputies about an initiative that called for holding a session to elect the President of the Republic. It specified that if this does not happen in the first round, the deputies would move to a dialogue and discussion chaired by the Speaker of the House. The statement emphasized that "the colleague deputy was merely talking about consultation between sessions."
Additionally, the statement reaffirmed that the bloc has not proposed accepting a dialogue table chaired by President Nabih Berri, as this does not represent their stance consistent with their declared convictions and principles in their weekly statements. This includes adherence to the Constitution and the Taif Agreement while rejecting hybrid customs. It also reiterates the call for consecutive, unconditional sessions to elect the president, coordinated in consultation with the opposition forces, leading to the need for clarification to avoid any misinterpretation.
