After the Iranian Strike: What Are the Damage Estimates at Negev's Nevatim Airbase?

Unconfirmed reports indicate that at least 44 Israeli soldiers were injured at the Negev-based Nevatim Airbase, where a large number of rockets launched by Iran struck, with the Iron Dome failing to intercept them.

New footage shows the arrival of Iranian ballistic missiles at Negev's Nevatim Airbase. Satellite images have also revealed precise damage to the airbase, including impacts on structures that appear to be locations for fighter jets.

Iran's Chief of Staff, General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, claimed that the Iranian attacks targeted Nevatim Airbase, asserting that the strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus was launched from there. In an interview with Iranian state television (IRIN), General Bagheri stated that the "operation" specifically aimed at "Nevatim Airbase, where F-35 aircraft were used to target our consulate in Damascus."

In response, Israeli Army Spokesperson Admiral Daniel Hagari confirmed that the Iranian ballistic missiles that reached Israel hit the airbase in southern Israel, causing only minor structural damage. He added that the base is operational and continues its activities post-attack, with aircraft still utilizing the facility.
