The Army Command - Directorate of Guidance reported that the Intelligence Directorate arrested, on March 14, 2024, five individuals, both Lebanese and Syrian, as part of ongoing security operations in different regions. The details are as follows:
- Lebanese individuals (J.Y.) and (M.Y.), along with Syrians (A.K.) and (M.K.) in the Brital area, were apprehended for forming a car theft and armed robbery gang, and for shooting at an Army patrol.
- Lebanese (N.N.) in Tripoli was arrested for stabbing Syrian (S.H.) to death with a knife on July 22, 2021, and for drug trafficking.
- Lebanese (A.D.) in the Wadi Baniyat - Hermel area, who is wanted on several arrest warrants for crimes including shooting at citizens, armed robbery, kidnapping, and arms trafficking, was found to have a stockpile of ammunition, military gear, and communication devices in his home.
- Lebanese (M.G.) in the Ras al-Maal area - Hermel was arrested for stealing cars from Lebanon and transporting them to Syrian territory, as well as for drug trafficking and stealing electrical cables and transformers.
The seized items have been handed over, and investigations with the detainees are underway under the supervision of the relevant judiciary.
