The State Security Agency arrested a harasser who attempted to rape a girl not exceeding 13 years old at a sports club in the Metn Coast. After interrogating him, he was referred to the relevant judicial authorities for further investigation.
In detail, a girl under 13 years old was performing some exercises at a sports club when (A. A.), about 22 years old, approached her, claiming he wanted to teach her new training methods. The girl engaged with him without realizing his intentions until he took her by the hand and led her to a side room in the club, where he attempted to rape her.
Club customers rushed to the girl's screams and rescued her from him, prompting (A. A.) to grab a bag he had and flee. After monitoring by the State Security Agency, specifically the Service and Information Division, and reviewing surveillance footage from inside and outside the club, as well as external street cameras, and conducting electronic tracking of his phone, they were able to identify his residence in coordination with the Mount Lebanon Directorate.
At around 6 AM the following day, State Security agents raided his house and arrested him. During the interrogation, he confessed to his crime and was confronted with the minor girl, who was accompanied by her guardian, and she recognized him. He was then handed over to the relevant judicial authorities for the necessary legal action against him.
