Title: Bassil: To Halt Any Measures That Would Consolidate Syrian Displacement

The ambassadors of the Scandinavian countries—Sweden's Ann Desmores, Finland's Ann Misakainen, Norway's Martin Batrvik, and Denmark's Christopher Vifecki, representing his country as well as Iceland—visited the head of the Free Patriotic Movement, MP Gibran Bassil, at the movement's general headquarters in Mirna el-Chalouhi. Slovakian Ambassador Marek Varga and Czech Ambassador Jiri Dolezel also visited, in the presence of the Movement's Vice President for Political Affairs Martin Katili, and MPs Nada Boustani and Cesar Abi Khalil, along with the Director of Diplomatic Relations Bashir Haddad. They discussed the situation in Lebanon and the region in light of the Gaza war, exploring ways to assist Lebanon in facing challenges and avoiding war, especially by pressuring Israel to stop its attacks that have resulted in civilian casualties. The crisis of Syrian displacement and its serious implications for the Lebanese situation was also addressed, with the FPM leader emphasizing the need to halt all measures that would consolidate displacement and to work towards planning for their safe return to their homeland.
