Judge Fadi Al-Anisi submitted a request to the Minister of Justice in the caretaker government, Henry Khoury, to end his services in the judiciary, asking for acceptance after the approval of the Supreme Judicial Council. Al-Anisi is the president of the Sixth Chamber of the Court of Appeal in the North and has been in the judiciary for 30 years. When attempting to clarify the reasons for his decision, "Nidaa al-Watan" reported that he declined to comment, adhering to confidentiality, and simply stated: "It is enough for one to look around and observe the situation to receive a satisfactory answer."
However, "Nidaa al-Watan" reveals that Al-Anisi recently found a job opportunity between Lebanon and the Gulf states, which will undoubtedly be in the legal field. This opportunity may not recur for him, especially given the current material and moral conditions, which have become very troubling for him, similar to other judges.
It is noteworthy that Al-Anisi had previously refused his appointment as an additional investigative judge in the Beirut Port explosion case after his name appeared on a list of nominated judges for this position. His refusal stemmed from his belief that this arrangement is illegal, as he opined that there is no place for an alternative in the presence of the original.
Al-Anisi's request to end his services will automatically take effect after two months due to the inability to issue a decree terminating his services in the absence of a President of the Republic. The process will only require the prior approval of the Supreme Judicial Council and then the Minister of Justice. It is also known that Al-Anisi is the investigating judge in the case of the assassination of martyr minister Pierre Gemayel and his companion, after this case reached him 15 years after the assassination.
