Hochstein in Iraq.. and the Oil of the Kurdistan Region on the Table for Discussion

The Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and the U.S. Special Presidential Coordinator for Global Infrastructure and Energy Security, Amos Hochstein, discussed the security situation in the region and its impact on the economy and market, particularly energy markets and prices. The two sides addressed the role of global companies in the oil industry in Iraq and the process of investing in Iraqi gas fields. The U.S. official touched on some American oil companies operating in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and the challenges they face due to the inability to export. In this context, Fuad Hussein pointed to the work of these companies, and the views of the federal government on one hand and the region on the other regarding the issue of oil exports from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq through the oil pipeline connecting the region to the Turkish port of Ceyhan.
