Military expert Anatoly Matviychuk stated that supplying Ukraine with F-16 aircraft will not change the situation on the battlefield, as they will be shot down immediately. In an interview with the newspaper "Izvestia," the expert said, "Ukraine will only receive 4-6 aircraft. I believe they will use them to launch Storm Shadow missiles, and possibly Taurus if the Germans provide them. However, they will not be able to carry out combat operations due to the lack of specialized infrastructure and the small number of aircraft, and they will meet the same fate as the Leopard and Abrams tanks. In other words, if they appear, they will be shot down immediately." It is noted that U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced that the first batch of F-16s will arrive in Ukraine in the summer of 2024, along with a trained group of pilots.
