Death of French Director Laurent Cantet

French director Laurent Cantet (63 years old), who won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival for his film "Entre les Murs," passed away after battling illness. The director, who had completed nine cinematic works, was working on a film titled "L’apprenti," which was scheduled to be released in 2025. The organizers of the Cannes Film Festival commented on Laurent's death, stating: "He was a person striving for light despite social violence, seeking hope amidst the harshness of reality."
