As a result of thorough inspections, the personnel at Dhour El Baydar barrier in the Regional Gendarmerie unit managed to arrest several individuals for drug possession. On March 2, 2024, on the Bekaa – Beirut route, the personnel of the Dhour El Baydar barrier detained two individuals in a passenger van of "Sang Yong" make, color white:
- S. Z. (born in 1982, Lebanese) (the driver)
- A. Z. (born in 2005, Lebanese)
They seized 1.1 kg of marijuana and 300 grams of cocaine hidden inside the van.
On the same route, the barrier personnel arrested another individual in a public van, suspected of illicit activities, named:
- M. J. (born in 1989, Lebanese)
Upon searching him, counterfeit banknotes amounting to $3,220 were found in his possession. The arrested individuals and seized items were handed over to the Dhour El Baydar police station for legal proceedings based on the competent judicial authority's directive.
