Billionaire Jeff Bezos, founder of the giant technology company Amazon and head of the space technology company Blue Origin, revealed his goal behind heavily investing in space, asserting that he hopes for a distant future where a trillion people live in space, but the only way to get there is through massive space colonies.
In an interview on the Lex Fridman Podcast, Bezos stated: "We will transport humans to space, and in the future, a trillion humans will live in space colonies on multiple planets. There will be a million human colonies in space, each housing a million people, and we're working on that now."
During the interview, billionaire Jeff Bezos disclosed the motivation behind his resignation as CEO of Amazon, which he founded in 1994. He mentioned that he wanted to dedicate his time and energy to his space company, which aims to make space accessible to everyone.
