Who is the New Chief of Staff Hassan Aoude?

The Lebanese Armed Forces announced that on 8/2/2024, the Cabinet decided to appoint Brigadier General Hassan Aoude as Chief of Staff of the Army, granting him a five-month promotion and promoting him to the rank of Major General. Hassan Aoude was born in Bater, Chouf on 11/2/1968 and volunteered for the Army as a student officer on 15/1/1990. He graduated from the Military Academy with the rank of Lieutenant on 23/4/1994 and progressed through the ranks to Major General as of 8/2/2024. He holds a bachelor's degree in military sciences and a master's degree in political science, international diplomacy, and security. He is proficient in French, English, and Italian. He has attended several courses both domestically and abroad, including a course in France and a course on staff work in Italy. He has held various positions, including commander of a company in an infantry brigade, commander of the 73rd Battalion, commander of the 3rd Intervention Regiment, and commander of the 11th Infantry Brigade. He has received the following medals: National Unity, Fajr Al-Jenoub, Military Commendation medal (silver), Lebanese Merit (second and third class), National Cedar (Knight and Officer ranks), Anti-Terrorism, and Military Honor (silver). He has received several letters of commendation and congratulations from the Army Commander. He is married to Mrs. Hala Halima and has three children: Jawad, Jalal, and Samaa.
