Man Arrested for Killing His Niece in Karbala

The Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency of the Iraqi Interior Ministry announced on Monday the arrest of a man who killed his niece in the holy city of Karbala. The intelligence agency stated in a statement that "the Falcon Intelligence Cell, in cooperation with the Karbala Police Command, conducted a specialized operation based on precise intelligence information, resulting in the arrest of a suspect wanted under Article (406) for killing his brother's daughter due to tribal honor." It added that the suspect was located after attempting to escape and hide in another governorate. The statement mentioned that "the suspect was handed over to the competent authorities in accordance with legal procedures to receive his just punishment."
