Nine children were killed today, Monday, due to a landmine explosion in southeastern Afghanistan. Hamidullah Nizar, the head of the media and culture department in Ghazni province, stated that "an unexploded mine detonated while they were playing with it." Ghazni police revealed that the ages of the children ranged from 4 to 10 years. The Sputnik Afghanistan agency reported: "Yesterday, in the Zadran village of the Jiro area, a landmine that had remained in the ground since the 1980s exploded, resulting in the deaths of 9 minors, marking the largest toll from such incidents."
