Grossi: The Nuclear Agreement with Iran Has Become Empty

After Iran perceived that reviving the agreement regarding its nuclear program, established in 2015, has become "futile," Rafael Grossi, the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, shared this view. According to the official Iranian news agency "IRNA," Grossi stated that the agency is present in Iran and is monitoring, but it does not monitor at the level and depth appropriate for the nature of the matter. He addressed the Iranians, urging them to resume the monitoring process, emphasizing that diplomacy is unavoidable. He announced a fundamental abandonment of the nuclear agreement, although its end has not been officially declared, stating that it has now become empty. He added, "No one is adhering to the provisions of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, meaning there is no presence of diplomacy or dialogue." He stressed that the reality is that Iran in 2015 is not the same as Iran in 2024. This comes after Iran repeatedly affirmed that reviving the agreement concerning its nuclear program has increasingly become "futile" for them.
