Trump: The Economy During My Presidency Was Bigger Than Russia and Saudi Arabia Combined

Former U.S. President Donald Trump stated that "the American economy during my presidency was the best economy in the history of our country, and it may have been the greatest economy in the history of the world." Trump said this on Thursday during an appearance on CNN, noting, "We were going to be close to being dominant in energy. No one has ever done what I did," highlighting that "we reduced fuel prices to $1.87 per gallon. In fact, it dropped below that in some cases. We had to save the oil companies. We were performing amazingly." He continued, "We would have been bigger than Russia and Saudi Arabia combined by twofold. We have more liquid gold beneath our feet, and those foolish idiots destroyed it," pointing out that "the price of fuel for cars has risen. And electricity bills have significantly increased, and heating bills have greatly increased." Trump mentioned that "it didn't stop there because people are paying for bacon and eggs double and triple what they were paying a short while ago. We created the greatest economy in history."
