Italian news agency "ANSA" reported today, Wednesday, that "41 migrants died when a ship sank off the Italian island of Lampedusa." The agency stated: "Four people survived the incident and told rescuers that they were on a boat that set off from Sfax in Tunisia and sank while on its way to the Italian shores." The boat was carrying 45 people, including three children. The International Organization for Migration, UNICEF, and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees issued a joint statement saying, "The survivors, a 13-year-old boy, a woman, and two men, reached Lampedusa today, Wednesday, nearly six days after their boat sank."
