The Qatari Amiri Diwan announced that Qatar's Amir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani discussed, during a phone call with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, reaching a ceasefire, the release of prisoners, and aid to Gaza. The Qatari News Agency "QNA" stated in a release: "Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani today in a phone call with El-Sisi discussed the developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, and the joint mediation efforts to reach a prompt and permanent ceasefire agreement in Gaza, the release of prisoners and detainees, and the sustainable introduction of humanitarian aid to all areas of the strip." The agency added that "the two presidents emphasized during the call the necessity of intensifying mediation efforts in the upcoming phase, in cooperation with all regional and international partners, to end the war on the Gaza Strip and alleviate the suffering of civilians."
