The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division, issued a statement today, Thursday, stating: "Following our announcement dated 28-9-2023, regarding the detention of the perpetrator of the shooting at the U.S. Embassy building in the Aoukar area on 20-09-2023, identified as: M. M. K. (born in 1997, Lebanese). As a result of the expanded investigation with him, he also admitted to firing shots towards the embassy complex in the Zoukak Blat area on the night of 25-08-2023, justifying his action by stating that he had a verbal altercation with one of the convoys while passing a few days earlier on the Ring Bridge, after which the convoy continued its path and entered the aforementioned complex. Through the comparison of the seized weapon with the empty shells found at the shooting site near the complex building - previously seized - the result was positive. Legal procedures were carried out against him, and he was referred along with the confiscated items to the competent authority based on judicial instructions."
