Qatar and Kuwait have called for pressure on Israel to stop the war on Gaza, which has entered its 138th day, leaving over 29,000 dead and more than 68,000 injured amid a severe humanitarian crisis. In a joint Qatari-Kuwaiti statement issued after talks between the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, both sides expressed deep concern over the humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip and the brutal war that has claimed the lives of thousands of innocent civilians, including children, women, and the elderly.
The two sides demanded exerting pressure on Israel to halt its aggression and prevent any displacement of Palestinians from the region. The Kuwaiti side commended Qatari mediation efforts, especially regarding the process of exchanging Palestinian prisoners and delivering aid to Gaza. Both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining security and stability in the Red Sea and respecting the right to maritime navigation. They also noted their close cooperation in various fields and praised the historical ties and fraternal relations between the two countries.
