Djibouti Port: We Evacuated the Crew of the Ship

Today, the Djibouti Port Authority announced regarding the ship Rubymar, which was targeted by the Houthis: "We evacuated the crew of the British ship Rubymar that was attacked in the Red Sea near Bab el Mandeb. The ship has 24 crew members, consisting of: 11 Syrians, 6 Egyptians, 3 Indians, and 4 Filipinos. The ship is carrying 21,999 metric tons of IMDG 5.1 category fertilizers (very dangerous), and the automatic identification system has been turned off, so its coordinates are unknown."

The Yemeni Houthi movement stated today that they targeted the cargo ship Rubymar in the Gulf of Aden and it is at risk of sinking. Yahya Saree, the military spokesperson for the Houthis, stated in a press release that the crew members of the Rubymar are safe. Saree mentioned in the statement, "The ship suffered severe damage, which led to its complete stoppage... As a result of the severe damage the ship has endured, it is now at risk of sinking in the Gulf of Aden." The ship, which flies the Belize flag and is registered in the United Kingdom, was attacked yesterday, Sunday.
