Defense and Interior Committee Discusses "Stamp Issue"

Defense and Interior Committee Discusses

The Defense and Interior Committee, along with the municipalities, held a session today, Wednesday, in the parliamentary council, chaired by MP Jihad al-Samad, with the presence of members and representatives from the relevant administrations. Following the session, a statement was issued indicating that "the stamp issue dominated the discussions among the MPs. After listening to the Director-General of Personal Status, as the General Directorate of Personal Status and its departments are directly involved with stamps, and after hearing from the Director-General of Finance and the Director of the Treasury in the Ministry of Finance who presented the stamp situation, the MPs reviewed the uproar surrounding the provision of stamps. The topic is very important and requires deep and swift solutions. The committee chair requested representatives from the Ministry of Finance to prepare a written study on this subject, the related issues, and propose appropriate solutions to be sent to the committee before calling for a second session regarding this matter." The statement also noted, "As for the other two agenda items related to general security and state security, there was not enough time to study them, so they have been postponed to a later date to be determined."
