62-Year-Old Soda Bottle Discovered in the UAE Storm

An Emirati heritage researcher has found a soda bottle dating back to the last century due to the impact of heavy rainstorms that hit the UAE recently. According to Emirates News Agency "Erem News," heritage researcher Ali Rashid Mahyan Al-Ketbi discovered the 62-year-old soda bottle after the severe rainstorms experienced in the UAE in recent weeks.

Al-Ketbi found a Pepsi Cola bottle in the Al-Dheidh area of Sharjah and learned during his investigation that the bottle was produced in 1962 by Dubai Refreshments Company, which was established in 1958.

In statements to the press, Al-Ketbi confirmed that he rushed to Al-Dheidh after heavy rain caused a stream in the valley, washing away a layer of soil and revealing around five old wells. He inspected the wells one by one, discovering a rock cavity inside which he found the historic soda bottle.

Many internet users shared pictures of the bottle on social media, sparking amazement among online activists who were struck by how well-preserved the bottle and its labels were after being buried underground for 62 years. The thunderstorm waves led to the discovery of this ancient bottle, revealed by researcher Ali Rashid Mahyan Al-Ketbi, following his inspection of the wells in the Al-Dheidh area of Sharjah.
