The General Directorate of State Security's Media, Guidance, and Public Relations Department announced in a statement that "after the escape of the detainee Danny Al-Rachid from one of the State Security prisons in the Houryani area and his concealment, the General Directorate of State Security, under the direct supervision of its leadership, conducted a campaign of investigation and monitoring. During this campaign, it was able to determine Al-Rachid's hiding place within Syrian territories. After joint coordination between the Directorate and the concerned Syrian security agencies, a joint security operation was carried out on Syrian territory, which led to his arrest."
The Directorate clarified that "the detainee was handed over to the General Directorate of Lebanese General Security to carry out the necessary legal procedures, and he will be referred again to the General Directorate of State Security tomorrow morning, Friday, to proceed with the legal actions against him under the supervision of the competent judiciary."
It noted that it is "committed to truth, law, and freedom, and thanked the entire Lebanese media for showing exceptional interest in this escape operation, which strengthened our national resolve that does not respond to any natural or fabricated skepticism except through appropriate security achievements, in service of the mission and obligation to which State Security has dedicated its life."
