Meteorologists have warned about the weather conditions in the coming hours as a hot desert low-pressure system is set to impact the country today. Accompanying the low-pressure system are strong winds raising dust and sand currently in northeastern Libya, now advancing towards the northwestern desert, Sallum, and Marsa Matrouh. Meteorologists have stated, "It is expected to continue advancing to cover all of northern Egypt and up to northern Upper Egypt by the end of the day on Wednesday. By Thursday morning, the dust and sand will progress into central and southern Upper Egypt." They added that "the peak of wind activity will occur from the afternoon until night, consequently increasing the movement of dust and sand more rapidly." The Meteorological Authority has urged citizens not to be misled, as we are in the spring season, characterized by sharp and rapid weather fluctuations due to variations in air masses and hot waves carried by khamsin winds during this season.
