Title: Egyptian Blogger's Family Claims She Was Defrauded, Not the Other Way Around

The family of Egyptian blogger Salma Al-Ghazouli stated that their daughter is innocent, asserting that the young woman was a victim of fraud rather than a perpetrator. They denied all accusations against her, emphasizing what they described as the "good side of her actions."

This comes after Egyptian authorities arrested members of a criminal gang in Menoufia, specializing in defrauding citizens and seizing their money under the pretense of investing in clothing trade via social media platforms. The Ministry of Interior confirmed the arrest of the accused along with four others, stating that the total amount involved reached 99 million Egyptian pounds.

Investigations revealed that Salma Al-Ghazouli, along with her brother and a shipping company owner, defrauded several women out of 100 million pounds by claiming to work with a famous global clothing brand, promoting it through advertisements. They allegedly offered discounts on products and clothing, as well as perfumes and other women's necessities, by requesting money transfers through electronic wallets and other bank transfers to her account under the pretext of providing the products, ultimately defrauding them.

Security forces apprehended the accused blogger and her brother at a location following multiple complaints against them, along with the shipping company owner, who was accused of being complicit in the fraud scheme. Salma Al-Ghazouli and her brother were transferred to Menoufia Governorate, and the prosecution ordered their detention pending investigations.
