UAE Plans to Establish Field Hospital in Gaza

The United Arab Emirates announced on Monday the establishment of a comprehensive field hospital inside the Gaza Strip, following the initiation of an air relief bridge to Al Arish Airport in Egypt. The Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported that under the orders of the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, "it has been decided to set up an integrated Emirati field hospital inside the Gaza Strip to provide necessary medical support to our Palestinian brothers in the region, as part of the humanitarian operation 'Brave Knight 3'."

On Monday, five planes departed from Abu Dhabi International Airport carrying all the equipment and requirements needed to establish and operate the field hospital, which will unload its cargo at Al Arish Airport in Egypt before being transported into Gaza.

The Emirati field hospital, which has a capacity of 150 beds and will be implemented in several phases, will include departments for general surgery, orthopedic surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics, anesthesia, and intensive care for both children and adults. Additionally, it will feature clinics in internal medicine, dentistry, a psychiatric clinic, family medicine, as well as services for CT scans, a laboratory, a pharmacy, and supportive medical services.
