The White House announced today, Monday, that it is "reviewing Hamas' response to the proposal for a ceasefire and the release of hostages, but refrained from mentioning any details about what has been agreed upon." White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby told reporters that "CIA Director William Burns was in the region for discussions regarding the proposal." He added, "We want to get these hostages out, we want to achieve a ceasefire for six weeks, and we want to increase humanitarian aid," stating that "reaching an agreement would be the 'best possible outcome'."
