Today, Saturday, Iraq witnessed the inauguration of the first phase of the electrical connectivity line with Jordan. The Iraqi Minister of Electricity, Ziad Ali Fadel, stated in a statement, "The electrical connectivity project extends over three phases, and it is expected to reach a capacity of 500 megawatts after activating the tripartite connection, which will include Egypt alongside Iraq and Jordan." He emphasized that "the opening of the new line will end the suffering of the residents of Rutba, who have endured 10 years without national electricity, and they will now enjoy stable and sustainable electricity." The electricity sector in Iraq has faced a serious decline in all its stages for the past 21 years, with citizens generally relying on private generators in their homes and businesses.
