Jordan Closes Its Airspace to Aircraft Due to

The Jordanian Civil Aviation Regulatory Authority announced today, Saturday, the complete closure of Jordanian airspace to aircraft due to the rising risks in the region, in order to preserve the safety and security of civil aviation. According to Jordanian media: "The authority has decided to temporarily close Jordanian airspace to all incoming, outgoing, and transiting flights starting at 20:00 UTC, which is 11:00 PM local time, for several hours, and this will be updated and reviewed continuously according to developments." Previously, the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Jordanian Civil Aviation Regulatory Authority, Haitham Mesto, stated today that air traffic in Jordan has been affected due to interference with the GPS navigation system, and that aircraft have been using alternative systems.
