Car Flip Claims Lives of Entire Family in Egypt

Seven people died and one other was injured last night, Monday, after a car overturned into a canal in Qena Governorate, Upper Egypt. River rescue teams are continuing their efforts to search for victims in the waters in the village of Al-Tawirat in Qena Center.

The area witnessed the car falling into the canal, and while residents tried to save as many victims as they could, all attempts failed due to the high water level, the car being submerged, and the darkness that prevented a clear view of the victims. River rescue teams, with the help of locals, managed to recover their bodies, which were placed in ambulances and transported in a sorrowful scene to the morgue of Qena University Hospital, amidst the screams of those present.

Initial investigations revealed that the victims belonged to one family from the "Naj' Abu Azali in the village of Al-Deir Al-Sharqi," and they were returning from the city of Hurghada on the Red Sea. The news spread throughout the region, leading the entire village to mourn the victims, according to local media.

The Qena Security Directorate received notification from the operations room about the car overturning in the "Asfun" canal in front of the village of Al-Tawirat in Qena Center, confirming the death of seven people, including women and children. River rescue teams moved to the scene of the incident, where they successfully retrieved seven bodies from the water and one injured person, who were then taken to Qena University Hospital.
