Tomorrow, Saturday, the competitions of the "Dubai Maritime Islands" carnival will commence, organized by the Dubai International Marine Club in collaboration with Nakheel, as part of the marine sports season schedule. The events include three diverse community competitions: the first is the "Dubai Fishing Championship" with Kayaks 2024, the second is the "Dubai Community Stand-Up Paddle Race," and the third is the "Dubai Community Kayak Race."
Mohammed Saif Al Merri, Director of Sports Affairs at the Dubai International Marine Club, stated that the organizing committee has ensured that the events are held under the best conditions. He noted that the committee is monitoring the sea conditions and all incoming reports for the safety of the participants, who number over 160 male and female competitors. He added, "The fishing competition brings together participants aged 18 and above, who will compete for awards in two categories: the largest fish and the heaviest catch throughout the day for specific types of fish, which include Kingfish, Hamour, Gag, and Sheri, according to the regulations."
The Director of Sports Affairs at the Dubai International Marine Club thanked the government departments and national institutions for their contributions to the success of the events.
