Iranian President: Our Country is Fully Prepared to Enhance and Deepen Relations with Pakistan

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi expressed his country's complete readiness to strengthen and deepen bilateral, regional, and international relations with Pakistan, according to "IRNA." In a phone conversation with Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Raisi congratulated him on his re-election as Prime Minister of Pakistan. The Iranian president hopes that "the popular and governmental bilateral relations will expand in this new period with the will and wisdom of the leaders of Tehran and Islamabad in areas of mutual interest." He also expressed hope that "the new Pakistani government will be able to take successful and effective steps towards the progress and growth of Pakistan." For his part, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif valued the Iranian president's congratulations during the conversation, hoping that "relations between the two countries will improve in all areas in light of the leaders' will and the joint efforts of the officials of both countries." Shahbaz Sharif expressed confidence that "given the countries' deep historical and cultural ties, the two nations can take effective steps to activate the diverse potentials available to provide mutual benefits." Shahbaz Sharif was sworn in as Prime Minister of Pakistan yesterday, Monday, at the presidential office in Islamabad.
