The Economic Court in Egypt acquitted Mortada Mansour, the former chairman of Zamalek Club, in a defamation and slander case. An employee filed multiple complaints against Mortada Mansour, including this complaint registered under number 11529 for the year 2021 in Agouza, and recorded under financial case number 1794 for the year 2023, accusing him of alleging that she received a bribe while conducting inspections at Zamalek Club.
On another note, Mortada Mansour's lawyer revealed the latest updates regarding Mansour's appeal against the defamation fine against Al-Khatib, noting that the appeal number 14671 regarding the defamation accusation and a fine of 10,000 pounds has been postponed until the appeal number 14670 is resolved, scheduled for June 22. Furthermore, Mansour's lawyer stated that the appeal has been referred to the Chief Justice of the Court of Cassation to determine a session for the General Assembly of Criminal Matters, formed in accordance with the decision of the General Assembly to consider the principle established by rulings that allow appeals related to the crime in question and to retract the principle established by previous rulings regarding the allowance since the Court of Cassation had initially ruled the appeal inadmissible due to the fine being below the threshold.
