The Hamas delegation arrived in Cairo today, Tuesday, coming from Doha, to follow up on ceasefire negotiations in the Gaza Strip. Hamas stated in a press release: "To continue efforts with our brothers, the mediators in Egypt and Qatar, to finalize an agreement to stop the aggression against our people in Gaza. The delegation includes Zahir Jabari, Dr. Ghazi Hamad, and Mohamed Nasr."
Hamas leader Osama Hamdan pointed out that "the delegation's move to Cairo confirms our serious position in cooperating with mediators to complete the agreement." Hamdan stated: "The movement's approval of a ceasefire came as a result of arduous and complex negotiations." He added: "We set red lines in the negotiations that cannot be compromised," noting that "the movement maintained coordination with Palestinian factions during the talks."
The Hamas leader called for an urgent Arab League meeting to stop the Israeli escalation in Rafah. Hamdan stated: "The agreement approved by the movement represents the minimum that meets the demands of our people and our resistance."
