Israeli Minister of Social Welfare, Yaakov Margi, has called on the government to approve a support plan for the northern settlements to save the region from collapse. The minister met with the Forum of Heads of Authorities of the Conflict Line Settlements in the north to discuss the social welfare needs that have increased since the outbreak of the war and to strengthen the aid and rehabilitation program in the north. Following the meeting, he stated, "I have heard closely about the challenges and needs arising from the field. I have noted the points raised, and I will hold a working meeting in the office to translate that into an action plan and expand responses to the increasing social welfare needs." Regarding the aid program, he stressed that "the government must quickly approve the plan for the north, similar to the assistance plan established for the settlements in the south, in order to establish a horizon and save this part of the country from total collapse."
