A new warning was issued by controversial Dutch seismologist Frank Hoogerbeets on Monday evening, where he cautioned about the possibility of a medium to large earthquake. He accompanied his tweet with a map of the Earth, marked with a longitudinal pink line and marks indicating certain places likely to be affected by the earthquake. Hoogerbeets wrote a warning: "Be on watch along this line. Potential for moderate to strong shake."
He retweeted a post from the geological agency he heads, SSGEOS, stating: "Medium to strong fluctuations - potential for a medium to strong earthquake." Just hours earlier, he posted a graphic commenting: "The high lunar peak (green) last night would support larger earthquake occurrence approx. 23-24 October."
It is worth noting that the name of this Dutch scientist is frequently mentioned with each tremor hitting the Earth's crust, as he often reminds the public, "I predicted this earthquake. I warned about this tremor." Scientists emphasize that there is no scientific method available to predict earthquakes before they occur.
Hoogerbeets has previously predicted several earthquakes or tremors before they actually occurred in recent months, including the devastating earthquake in Turkey that resulted in the death of more than 50,000 people and the earthquake in Morocco last month that claimed 3,000 lives. He also predicted multiple simultaneous earthquakes that shook the Earth in recent days and had warned about them beforehand. His latest predictions and warnings were concerning the series of earthquakes that struck Afghanistan recently.
