News spread today, Tuesday, about the death of the vegan blogger, Zana Samsonova, who reportedly "died of hunger" after relying exclusively on a diet of tropical fruits in Malaysia.
Reports stated that the 39-year-old Russian citizen promoted raw foods extensively on social media, where she was known to millions of viewers on platforms like TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram.
On July 21, Zana sought medical treatment after suffering for a while during her trip to Southeast Asia, but she died shortly after.
One of her friends revealed to "Newsflash" that "a few months ago, in Sri Lanka, she looked really exhausted, and her leg was swollen. They sent her for treatment. However, she escaped again. When I saw her in Phuket, I was horrified."
Her friend added, "I was her neighbor, and every day I feared I would find her dead in the morning. I convinced her to seek treatment, but she refused."
Another friend mentioned that she had been following "a completely raw vegan diet" for the past four years, consuming only "fruits, sunflower seed sprouts, and fruit juices."
In her last posts, Samsonova wrote on Instagram: "I see my body and mind changing every day, I love my new self, and I will never go back to the habits I used to practice."
