Macron Suggests Sending French Troops to Ukraine

French President Emmanuel Macron reaffirmed his readiness to send troops to Ukraine, stating in an interview published by "The Economist" on Thursday that the issue should be "raised" if Moscow breaches "the front lines" and if Kyiv requests it. Macron said: "If the Russians break through the front lines, and if there is a Ukrainian request in this regard, which has not happened yet, we should raise this issue legitimately." He added: "Excluding that possibility now means we have not learned the lessons from the past two years," referring to when NATO countries initially ruled out sending tanks and planes to Ukraine after Russia's attack on Ukraine in February 2022 before changing their stance.
