Tomorrow, the Asian Cup for young fencers will commence, organized by the UAE Fencing Federation, and it will run until January 21. The competition will take place at the Al Ahli Youth Club, featuring 148 male and female players from 10 Asian countries, competing in all three weapon categories: foil, épée, and sabre.

Engineer Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, President of the Asian, Arab, and UAE Federations and a member of the Executive Board of the International Fencing Federation, stated that the tournament is considered one of the most important championships hosted by the UAE in the sport of fencing for this age group in 2024. He noted that it adds to a series of successes achieved by the Fencing Federation recently.

He mentioned that "immediately after the invitation to organize the tournament was announced and approval from the Asian Federation was obtained for its hosting in Dubai, several coordination meetings were held between the federation and the Al Ahli Youth Club, along with technical experts to ensure its successful execution.”

He added that "the tournament will feature 148 players, including some of the top athletes from the continent representing 10 Asian countries: the UAE, Hong Kong, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Kyrgyzstan, Oman, Qatar, and Tajikistan."

He explained that "the championship will be held under the supervision of the Asian Federation of the sport, which was keen to send technical experts to follow up on the preparations for the event, and everyone has shown confidence in the country's excellent organizational capabilities."
