Title: Security Raids in Beirut Vegetable Market Seize Smuggled Fruits from Syria

Security forces in Beirut conducted raids at the vegetable market following information about the presence of smuggled fruits from Syria. During the inspections, two tons of apples and about one ton of peaches were seized, and four owners of the establishments selling these products were arrested. Investigations are ongoing under the supervision of the relevant judiciary, with plans to distribute the seized fruits to charitable organizations in coordination with them. A source from the security agency stated that as the fruit and vegetable season begins in Lebanon, these raids will increase to deter those benefiting from accumulating profits at the expense of Lebanese farmers, whose rights and livelihoods the agency sees as its duty to protect.
